April 2026

Ransom Canyon Property Owners Association

  • April 7th Annual Meeting: If you are interested in volunteering for the Property Owners Association board, there will be three open positions available. Starting in April, it is a commitment of two years. The roles and time requirements are flexible depending on the position filled. Please email (poa@ransomcanyonpoa.org) a brief description of yourself and your reasons for wanting to serve on the board. This information will be shared with all our neighbors. I also recommend reviewing our bylaws to familiarize yourself with the different positions. The election will take place at the April 7th meeting.

  • In the coming days the financial reports and ballot are posted to the website . The Board has a lot that needs to be accomplished and requires the memberships vote to move forward.

  • You can cast your vote:

    • In person on April 7th at 6:30pm at the Ranch House

    • Online from March 31st until April 7th at 6pm

    • Via absentee ballot

Dear Ransom Canyon Residents,

Spring is here, and with it comes exciting momentum across our community! The March POA Board Meeting covered a wide range of updates from financial progress and community improvements to upcoming events and opportunities to get involved. Here’s a clear and engaging look at what’s happening in Ransom Canyon.

  • The Treasurer's Report: We’re pleased to report a strong start to the year!

    Net Income (Jan–Feb): $30,005.82

    • Continued revenue from venue rentals and services

    • Ongoing work to improve financial tracking and reporting

    Efforts are underway to:

    • Improve QuickBooks reporting (especially aging reports)

    • Ensure all rental payments and deposits are accurately recorded

    • Increase collection of outstanding dues

Strong financial management helps us continue improving the Canyon while planning for future needs.

For more details, please see the Agendas and Minutes.

  • Ranch House Report: Several updates and projects are in motion:

    • Ranch House improvements (parking striping, fire lane, landscaping)

    • Driveway repairs and general maintenance

    • Equipment and event setup enhancements

These upgrades are especially important as we head into a busy spring wedding and event season.

  • Bylaws & Governance Updates

The Board is working on important updates to the POA bylaws to improve clarity, transparency, and efficiency.

    Key considerations include:

    • Adding new roles (such as a parliamentarian)

    • Addressing board vacancies more effectively

    • Ensuring compliance with current regulations

Updated materials will be shared with residents ahead of the April vote, and your participation is encouraged.

  • Board Involvement & Leadership

We are actively looking for new board members to continue the positive progress made over the past year.

If you’ve ever considered getting involved, this is a great opportunity to:

    • Have a voice in community decisions

    • Help shape the future of Ransom Canyon

    • Contribute your skills and perspective

  •  Boat Slips & Rentals

Boat slip management is being improved to create a clearer and fairer process:

    • Current holders will receive renewal opportunities first

    • Remaining slips will be offered based on availability

    • Updated policies will clarify assignment procedures

From financial progress to community improvements and exciting events, Ransom Canyon continues to move forward in a positive direction. None of this would be possible without the involvement, support, and care of our residents.

If you’d like to volunteer, join a committee, or run for the board, we would love to have you involved.

Thank you for being part of what makes Ransom Canyon such a special place to live.

Warm regards,

Ransom Canyon POA Board

This weekend is an opportunity to refocus, be encouraged, and strengthen your faith alongside other women. As we gather, we’ll be reminded that our stability doesn’t come from circumstances — it comes from staying connected to our Source.

Boat Permit Season Available Through the City

As the weather warms up and lake activity increases, it is that time of year when residents will be

obtaining boat permits. The City would like to remind everyone of the regulations regarding boat

and personal watercraft permits and lake use.

Boat and Personal Watercraft Registration

All boats and personal watercraft operated within the city limits must display a recreational

permit issued by the City. The permit must be permanently displayed on the stern or right-

hand side of the vessel.

  •  The annual permit fee is $40.00 for boats that are required to be registered with the State.

  •  Permits are valid for one calendar year, running from January 1st through December 31st.

  •  Permits may be obtained by contacting the Police Department or visiting City Hall during regular business hours.

Before a recreational permit can be issued, owners must provide:

  •  Proof of ownership

  •  Proof of city residency or property ownership within the city

  •  A current registration certificate from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

The City Council may also authorize boat registrations without a fee for special recreational events.

Boat Size and Equipment Restrictions

To ensure safety on the lake, the following restrictions are in place:

  • Boats may not exceed 24 feet in length.

  • Boats may not exceed 200 horsepower, based on the manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Boats that were legally registered in previous years may continue to operate as long as their registration has not been interrupted.

  • All boat motors must emit exhaust below the water surface.

  • Jet boats are not permitted.

  • Jet drive personal watercraft are allowed.

Friendly Reminder

If you plan to enjoy the lake this season, please make sure your boat permit is up to date before

operating on the water. These regulations help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for

all residents.

For questions or to obtain your permit, please contact the Police Department or visit City Hall

during regular business hours. We look forward to another great season on the lake!
