Ransom Canyon Property Owners Association

Over the past month, the Property Owners Association (POA) has diligently concentrated on several important projects aimed at improving our community:
Treasurer's Report: Judy Laney presented a financial report, the community's financial status is strong. Noting a net income of $44,000 year-to-date and a balance of $272,000 in the bank. You can see further details by viewing the Agendas and Minutes.
Echo Courier: The POA will not be doing a print Echo at this time due to the expense. The POA will do an annual print that will include a ballot in preparation for the annual meeting. More information to come next year.
Ranch House Report: Chelsea is keeping the Ranch House very busy. Lots of bookings which is good. A new floor cleaning machine is needed and because of these bookings we have the funds to replace the machine.
POA Dues: Invoices are sent out in December each year via mail or email. Annual POA dues ($60) are due by March 1st. If you prefer email, know that the invoice comes from quickbooks@notification.intuit.com.
Payment by check - You can mail check to Ransom Canyon POA Box A Ransom Canyon, TX 79366.
Payment online - To pay online you must receive the emailed invoice then click on the black box that says "Review and Pay". There is not a specific website you can visit. Invoices are tied to Quickbooks. If you have any questions, need to update your address or email please contact. Treasurer Judy Lane judylaney0@icloud.com.
April 7th Annual Meeting: If you are interested in volunteering for the Property Owners Association board, there will be three open positions available. Starting in April, it is a commitment of two years. The roles and time requirements are flexible depending on the position filled. Please email (poa@ransomcanyonpoa.org) a brief description of yourself and your reasons for wanting to serve on the board. This information will be shared with all our neighbors. I also recommend reviewing our bylaws to familiarize yourself with the different positions. The election will take place at the April 7th meeting.

New Police Lieutenant

He brings seven years of service in the Texas State Guard and six years of experience with the
Crosby County Sheriff’s Office.
He joins our community with strong leadership skills, extensive tactical training, and significant
disaster-response experience. During his State Guard service, he led a squad through
deployments for disaster relief and border operations. He also contributed to major disaster-
response efforts during the Abilene flooding and Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. His
exceptional leadership and operational performance earned him a promotion to Corporal and
Squad Leader.
His professional certifications include a Texas Intermediate Peace Officer License, Advanced
SWAT Training, Basic Instructor Certification, SWAT Use of Distraction Devices, Less Lethal
Chemical & Impact Munitions Instructor, and Glock Armorer Certification.

New Telephone System at City Hall
The Town of Ransom Canyon has implemented a new phone system after a recent power outage
that permanently damaged the previous, antiquated equipment for which replacement parts are
no longer available. As a result, the City now has new phones, and the original phone numbers
will be replaced. The updated numbers are as follows: (806) 810-2067 for City Hall and (806)
810-2736 for the Police Department. The new systems allows for voicemails.
Unfortunately, the City is unable to retain the original phone numbers without maintaining two
separate phone systems, which is not feasible.
Ransom Ranch Update
The Ransom Ranch development located across the street from City Hall completed a
foreclosure process on November 4, 2025, resulting in new ownership. The City
anticipates a productive partnership moving forward as efforts begin to develop new
housing.
