The Treasurer's Report: The POA remains in a strong financial position, with more than $300,000 in the bank. As of the end of April, net income for the year was approximately $47,000.
Statements for unpaid POA dues have been sent by email or mail. Going forward, annual POA dues invoices are expected to go out earlier in the year so payments can be received by January 1, as outlined in the deed restrictions.

The City of Ransom Canyon, Ransom Canyon Volunteer Fire Department, Property Owners
Association, and RC Fellowship Church participated in a Firewise Cleanup Day on Saturday,
April 26, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Volunteers met at 8:30 a.m. at the pavilion on the Party Island for assignments and a light
continental breakfast. Participants walked designated areas throughout the canyon to collect trash
and debris.
Volunteers brought their tools, chainsaws, and trimmers and also assisted with trimming trees,
removing brush, and raking designated public areas.
Prior to the event, city staff collected large items placed at the curbside of residences during the
event and after the event, they assisted with the cleanup efforts. It was a successful day of
cleaning the canyon. Participants cleaning the Canyon in action pictured below included Scottie
Hildebrandt, current City Council Member, Mayor Val Meixner, and Dr. Terry Waldren, former
City Council Member.

Boat Permit Season Available Through the City
As the weather warms up and lake activity increases, it is that time of year when residents will be
obtaining boat permits. The City would like to remind everyone of the regulations regarding boat
and personal watercraft permits and lake use.
Boat and Personal Watercraft Registration
All boats and personal watercraft operated within the city limits must display a recreational
permit issued by the City. The permit must be permanently displayed on the stern or right-
hand side of the vessel.
The annual permit fee is $40.00 for boats that are required to be registered with the State.
Permits are valid for one calendar year, running from January 1st through December 31st.
Permits may be obtained by contacting the Police Department or visiting City Hall during regular business hours.
Before a recreational permit can be issued, owners must provide:
Proof of ownership
Proof of city residency or property ownership within the city
A current registration certificate from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
The City Council may also authorize boat registrations without a fee for special recreational events.
Boat Size and Equipment Restrictions
To ensure safety on the lake, the following restrictions are in place:
Boats may not exceed 24 feet in length.
Boats may not exceed 200 horsepower, based on the manufacturer’s specifications.
Boats that were legally registered in previous years may continue to operate as long as their registration has not been interrupted.
All boat motors must emit exhaust below the water surface.
Jet boats are not permitted.
Jet drive personal watercraft are allowed.
Friendly Reminder
If you plan to enjoy the lake this season, please make sure your boat permit is up to date before
operating on the water. These regulations help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for
all residents.
For questions or to obtain your permit, please contact the Police Department or visit City Hall
during regular business hours. We look forward to another great season on the lake!
